Jonathon D. Sayre is a Partner in the Orange County office of Manning & Kass. He is the leader of the Subrogation and Recovery practice.
In addition to handling Personal Injury, Premises Liability, Products Liability, and Construction Defect related matters he is also a member of the Complex Litigation team. The Complex Litigation team focuses on affirmative litigation cases involving insurance fraud, first and third-party special investigation defense, high exposure and catastrophic personal injury matters, mass torts, transportation litigation, and class action defense. Mr. Sayre has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation from both the plaintiff and defense perspectives.
Mr. Sayre received his Bachelor of Science in psychology from California Lutheran University and his Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University – Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. During law school, he received invaluable experience as an intern with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. Just after law school, Mr. Sayre worked as an assistant general counsel at a San Diego-based pharmaceutical company. There, he drafted and negotiated contracts across a wide range of business and corporate governance-related matters. He was later recruited as director of international business development at a medical device company headquartered in San Diego. He handled internal legal matters; drafted and negotiated complex distribution, licensing, and confidentiality agreements; and coordinated efforts with the company’s regulatory department. Mr. Sayre negotiated and acquired new business in more than 20 countries. The position allowed him to travel internationally to meet and vet potential partners for the company.
In 2009, Mr. Sayre began his career as a litigator handling construction defect, construction site injury, premises liability, subrogation, and product liability cases. Mr. Sayre has handled every aspect of the prosecution and defense of such matters from pre-litigation resolutions through trial. Mr. Sayre is also a graduate of the ABOTA Trial Program in Los Angeles. He prides himself on his ability to obtain quick resolutions when possible, but also being able to provide an aggressive, effective defense when cases require.
When he is not working, Jon enjoys competitive sports, the outdoors, and traveling.
