Trisha E. Newman is an of counsel in the Los Angeles office of Manning & Kass, where she practices on the Appellate Law (Strategy, Writs, and Appeals) Team. She focuses mainly on police and municipal defense in federal court. Ms. Newman also has experience in corporate law, focusing on representation of non-profit and tax exempt entities.
Ms. Newman started as a deputy public defender in Los Angeles County. She later formed her own solo practice, centered on appointed criminal defense appeals and helping small businesses with corporate formation and compliance.
Ms. Newman received her BA from University of California, Los Angeles (2001) and JD from Southwestern University School of Law (2004). Prior to that, in 2003, she externed with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office. She is admitted to the Texas and California Supreme Courts; Central District of California; Fifth and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Newman serves as the State Bar of California Nonprofits Committee vice chair of social media and is a member of the Sports Lawyer's Association.
