Todd Lezon is an associate in the Los Angeles Office of Manning & Kass, where he practices with the Product Liability and Landlord/Tenant/Habitability Teams.
Before he went to law school, Mr. Lezon served in the United States Army as a non-commissioned officer. Mr. Lezon deployed to Iraq twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his first tour of duty in 2003-2004, Mr. Lezon was part of a military police unit that entered Iraq during initial combat operations in April 2003. During his second tour in 2007-2008, Mr. Lezon was the leader of a special operations forces team tasked with implementing the division commanders' counterinsurgency strategy in central Iraq. For his service, Mr. Lezon was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal.
Mr. Lezon earned a BA in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2007, where he graduated magna cum laude. Mr. Lezon earned a JD from California Western School of Law in 2011, where he graduated cum laude. After earning his JD, Mr. Lezon earned an advanced LLM law degree in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2013.
Mr. Lezon has extensive civil litigation experience. He has taken numerous cases to trial and secured favorable results for his clients. Prior to joining Manning & Kass, Mr. Lezon worked as an insurance defense attorney specializing in law and motion practice, where he prepared and argued motions in courts throughout California. He has appeared and argued in California state courts in Alameda, Kern, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. Mr. Lezon has represented clients in personal injury actions involving drunk driving, negligent entrustment of a motor vehicle, uninsured/underinsured motorist actions, residential and commercial premises liability actions, intentional tort actions, and California Fair Employment and Housing Act discrimination cases. He has litigated and taken to trial cases involving unlawful business practices, professional malpractice, fraud, and breach of contract. As a law and motion practitioner, Mr. Lezon has had great success in summarily adjudicating punitive damages claims, thereby dramatically lowering his clients' financial exposure. Prior to handling civil litigation matters, Mr. Lezon defended over two hundred taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and California Franchise Tax Board.
In his spare time, Mr. Lezon enjoys hiking and traveling. He has done extensive pro bono legal work for his fellow veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
