Scott A. Alles is a senior counsel in the Phoenix office of Manning & Kass. Mr. Alles practices on the firm's Construction Defect, Products Liability, and Subrogation and Recovery Teams, where he handles construction defect litigation and all areas of personal injury, including disability, auto, premises, and products liability.
Mr. Alles has been a certified Arizona State Bar specialist in personal injury and wrongful death litigation since 1990. In 2011, he was named as one of Arizona's Finest Lawyers, an honor which recognizes the top 10 percent of attorneys practicing law for a minimum of 10 years who have demonstrated a high level of competence, skill, integrity, and professional conduct in the legal profession.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Alles served as senior staff counsel for an international insurance company and was a partner with a prominent law firm in Phoenix. Throughout the span of his career, he has handled more than 60 jury trials and over 200 arbitrations. Most notably, he has defended the following cases:

Nolan v. Starlight Pines, 216 Arix. 482 (2007)
ADA inapplicable to homeowners association;
State Farm v. Premiere, 217 Ariz. 222 (2007)
Trial counsel for a Supreme Court case applying comparative fault principles to strict product liability;
Fryer v. Beringson, Pima County Superior Court
Under Frye standard, successfully excluded claim that fibromyalgia was traumatically induced.
Mr. Alles received his BS degree from Central Michigan University in 1976 and his JD from The Detroit College of Law in 1980. He is admitted to the State Bar of Michigan (inactive) and all Arizona courts, including the 6th and 9th Federal Appeals Courts. He is a member of the Torts and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association and has been a Defense Research Institute member since 1981. Mr. Alles holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest an attorney can receive for legal quality and ethics.
