R. Scott Harlan, Esq., is an associate attorney at Manning & Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester, LLP. Mr. Harlan’s practice is devoted to civil litigation defense in the areas of insurance, premises liability, subrogation, products liability, construction defect, and business litigation. He also has extensive experience dealing with automobile accident liability and consumer warranty litigation.
Prior to joining Manning & Kass, Mr. Harlan worked as an attorney for an insurance defense firm in Irvine, California, where he represented large corporations and their clients in automobile accident, products liability, general liability, and consumer warranty claims. Throughout law school, Mr. Harlan worked at a private criminal defense law office in Laguna Hills, California as a Certified Law Clerk. Before attending law school, Mr. Harlan gained valuable experience as a Congressional Law Clerk for Congressman Wally Herger, a 13-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives, in his District 2, Chico, California office.
Mr. Harlan obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Western State College of Law in Irvine, California. During law school, Mr. Harlan was a member of his law school’s negotiations team, and participated in the American Bar Associations Negotiations Competition. He was also an active member of the Criminal Law Association and Asian Pacific American Law Student Association. Mr. Harlan graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, and minor in Civic Leadership. Mr. Harlan was a member of the NCAA Division-I baseball team during his time as an Indiana State Sycamore.
Mr. Harlan is admitted to practice law in California, and in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
