Nicole E. Hoikka is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Manning & Kass, where she is a member of the Strategy, Writs and Appeals Team (SWAT).
Ms. Hoikka has represented clients in a wide variety of litigation matters in both state and federal court. She has handled cases from inception to completion, including law and motion, civil discovery, settlement negotiations/mediations, and trial. Prior to joining Manning & Kass, Ms. Hoikka worked in a prominent plaintiff trial firm located in Beverly Hills and a public entity defense firm located in Santa Ana, California. She has also worked on pro bono matters with the American Bar Association's Immigration Justice Project and Public Counsel's Consumer Rights and Economic Justice Project.
Ms. Hoikka received her Juris Doctorate from UCLA School of Law. During law school, she clerked for the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Los Angeles Police Department Office of Inspector General. Ms. Hoikka earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Government from the University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with high honors and was admitted to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Hoikka participated in the selective American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Fellowship Program, which included a clerkship for the Hon. Mark Mooney of the Los Angeles Superior Court. She is also a graduate of the Jack Daniels ABOTA Trial School.
Ms. Hoikka is admitted to practice before all California State courts as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Central and Eastern Districts of California. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
